For residents

How do I file a maintenance ticket?+

Log in to your portal → click Maintenance → New Ticket. Pick the issue type, add a description and photos if helpful, then submit. You'll get email updates as it's worked on.

How do I pay my dues?+

Log in → My Bills → click 'Pay Now' next to the invoice. You can pay by ACH (cheapest, no card fee) or credit card. Or enroll in auto-pay so you never miss a month.

I forgot my password.+

On the login page, click 'Forgot?' under the password field. Enter your email and we'll send you a reset link (expires in 1 hour).

How do I book the party room or gym?+

Amenities → pick the amenity → choose a date and time → Reserve. The system blocks double-bookings automatically.

Can I see my building's bylaws?+

Yes — Documents → look in the Bylaws category. Anything your board has marked 'Resident-visible' will be there.

How do I update my emergency contact?+

My Profile → fill in the Emergency Contact section → Save. The board needs this if something happens at your unit while you're away.

For board members & property managers

How do I add new residents?+

Residents → Add unit (or Import CSV for bulk) → click Invite next to a unit → enter the owner's name and email. They get a welcome email with a temporary password.

How does dues collection work?+

Connect your building's bank in Settings → Billing → Stripe Connect. Residents pay through the portal and money flows directly to your account. AedoBuild never holds your funds.

How do I send an announcement to everyone?+

Announcements → New announcement → write it → optionally schedule for later → Publish. Every resident gets an email. For emergencies (fire, flood), use the red 'Emergency broadcast' button which also sends SMS.

Can residents see each other's data?+

No. Residents only see their own unit's tickets, bills, and payments. Announcements and documents are visible to everyone in the building (unless you mark a document Board-only).

How do I assign vendors to tickets?+

Add vendors in the Vendors section with the categories they handle (plumbing, electrical, etc.). When a new ticket comes in for that category, it auto-assigns. You can override on the ticket detail page.

What about the platform fee?+

Your AedoBuild subscription is billed per active unit per month (see Settings → Billing). Stripe charges the standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ for cards, ~$5 max for ACH) on dues payments — that comes out of the building's funds, not yours.

Troubleshooting

I'm not getting emails from AedoBuild.+

Check spam first. If still missing, ask your board to verify your email in Residents. Some corporate filters block transactional email — gmail/outlook addresses work best.

My auto-pay charge failed.+

Stripe will retry automatically. If it fails a second time, you'll get an email. Update your card in My Bills → Update card.

The site is showing 'Something went wrong.'+

Click 'Try again.' If it keeps happening, screenshot the error (note the Reference code) and email support@aedobuild.com.
