Why per-unit pricing?
A 20-unit building has 1/10th the work of a 200-unit building. Per-unit pricing means small buildings aren't subsidizing big ones, and big buildings don't get stuck on a plan they've outgrown. Pay for what you use.
The alternative — flat plans like *"$199/month for up to 100 units"* — punishes you for growing past arbitrary cutoffs. We don't do that.
Billing questions
What you'll want to know before swiping a card.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes — 30 days, no credit card required. Bring your whole board, invite a few residents, take it for a real test drive. Most boards know within a week whether it's the right fit.
How does per-unit pricing actually work?+
You pay per active unit per month. A 120-unit building on the Growth plan costs $480 CAD/month. We count units, not residents — a 2-bedroom condo with 3 people is one unit. Empty units don't count.
Can we change plans later?+
Yes, anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated). Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. No penalty either way.
Are there setup fees or hidden costs?+
No setup fees. No data migration fees. The only additional cost is Stripe's standard payment processing — 2.9% + $0.30 per card transaction, or 1.5% (capped at $25) for ACH. Stripe charges this directly to you, not us.
Do you take a cut of dues?+
No. With Stripe Connect, your residents pay your building's bank account directly. We never see or hold the money. Standard Stripe fees are the only payment processing cost.
Can we cancel anytime?+
Yes — no contracts, month-to-month. Export all your data to CSV/JSON whenever you want. We earn your business each month.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Canadian ACH for your monthly subscription. Enterprise customers can pay via invoice with NET 30 terms.
Do you offer non-profit or volunteer-board discounts?+
Yes — small self-managed buildings under 30 units qualify for 25% off the Starter plan. Email sales@aedobuild.com with your building's info to apply.
What about taxes?+
Canadian customers are charged HST/GST/QST as applicable. We're registered with CRA. US customers don't pay sales tax (we're a Canadian company).
